Asda start putting out their Autumn homewares

It's always good to seesome seasonal homewares. Haven't seen any pumpkin bowls, teapota and plates like last year sadly but the liquid soap dispenser looks good. Plent of things like duvet sets and bathmats. Some of the ceramics are cream, white or more neutral in colour and not fitting in with my personal collection but do look taseful and very reasonably priced and will suit may other people's homes. Let's hope more items follow.

More from TKMaxx

With TKMaxx putting out new stock so frequently, here are a few more items from the Folkestone store. Disney fans will be happy to see Mickey Mouse merchandise and the Snoopy oven gloves and tea towels were worth purchasing.

The Range gets off to a good start

I'm usually a little critical of The Range's halloween offerings. Their decorations, as you would expect from The Range, are perhaps more on a par with Poundland and Home Bargains, but with a few more expensive items such as animatronic and light projector items, none of which has ever tempted me.

However this year as well as starting to put out such items as mentioned above, they have put out a range called the Fall Collection, which, to me, are a bit more tasteful. Ok, the autumnal wreaths are a bit plasticky, but then they are made to be reused. I mught just hold on until I see something a bit more realistic though.

There are plenty of pumpkin shaped items such as mugs or lidded bowls. It is just a shame they are white or black. The pumpkin wreath holders are worthwhile buyng for when you do get a wreath, and the clear glass stacked pumpkin container looks nice and is quite large - as to what you choose to put in it? The top two pumpkins lift off.

There is also a grey slate pumpkin shaped serving food platter which would look good on any table display. Again hessian and fabric seems to be a theme already this year. I'm not so much a fan of the hanging wooden signs saying 'Hello Pumpkin', but I'm sure they will be snapped up as they will tastefully fit in with some peoples' furnishings.

TKMaxx get up and running in July

TK Maxx seem to be the first major shop putting out Halloween decorations in the UK now. Here are the offerings at the Folkestone store. Nothing that has tempted me yet for my collection, but as more stock comes out I'll post anything else that I see that may be of interest. There seems to be some nice hessian / fabric products this year. The Jack Skellington cushion I'm sure will be snapped up quickly. The kitchenware seems more skull and skeleton themed so far.
