Breakfast Cereals from Lidl

I forgot to post this last week, but I spotted three types of breakfast cereals in Lidl in their Halloween range of food.

Frozen Food from Lidl, Halloween 2023

I saw in their freebie mewspaper that there were pumpkin puree and bacon frozen pizzas, and in payng a visit to get a couple of frozen pizzas, I found there wase a whole host of halloween frozen party food. I bought the various savoury options but there was also a frozen cake and also some doughnuts too.

I'm not too sure how I feel about eating chicken nuggets coated in some blackened crumb, and also the mini pizzas boasting that they are coated in a black sauce, but I guess I'll find out when I cook them for my party.

Waitrose Halloween 2023

The local Waitrose in Hythe may not be the largest Waitrose around but it did have a few Halloween goodies out. There were a few more decorations on the end of a neighbouring aisle and also some sweets too.

Folkestone's Old High Street

Walked down Folkestone's Old High Street today and saw a poster for a Halloween scavenger hunt that is happening... but next weekend (21st), probably timed due to half term for schools. I did this the other year and most of the shops had clues to find in their window displays. Good fun whatever your age.

Also the cake shop had a Zero (from the Nightmare Before Christmas) cake in their window. The Cake Junction create lavish cakes and the Beckhams have commissioned bespoke cakes from them over the years.

Even more from Sainsburys 2023

The Park Farm store in Folkestone finally had its display out and I got to see the (almost) full display... there were some childrens books missing. So I havent included any real repetition and just showed the Nightmare Before Christmas items. But of note was the Cadburys marketing display above the sweets section.

Lidl Halloween 2023

The local out of town store had their usual fare. Some decorations, plenty of gummy sweets, including some rather nice looking eyeball sweets. Lidl is still doing its dried pasta in Halloween shapes (bat, pumpkin & witch) and noticable this year were a few paperback books that I hadn't seen before... but nothing to tempt me.

More from Sainsburys 2023

The smaller Sainsburys store in Folkestone had it's Halloween offering out when I popped in yesterday. It's obviously not their full range, but gave me a better idea of what they were putting out, since the Hythe store were in the process of setting up their display at the weekend.

Morrisons Halloween 2023

The Folkestone store has its display out for this year. Nothing to buy for me. Recently there have been some interesting masks and also games for sale, but it was a noticably smaller display this year. The childrens' torches were quite well designed though, and the plastic goats skull was beter than most similar props that I have seen.

Halloween food

It was good to find some different squash and pumpkin food products this year. The Higgidy butternut squash pies were in the frozen section in Waitrose and were on an introductory offer when I bought them.

Sainsburys do have some seasonal autumnal food and this year there is a pumpkin cake and as well as their butternut squash and coconut soup their have a spicy pumpkin soup. Sadly the pumpkin bread had sold out when I visited, but the 19 Crimes wine brand were doing glow in the dark wine bottles.

Sainsburys starts to put out its display... Halloween 2023

The Hythe Sainsbury was just putting out some of its fare when I was in store today. So a further trip to a large Sainsburys will be on the cards in a week or so. But so far there are signs of some Nightmare Before Christmas merchandise. Mainly plastic items - some that light up. But also, one of the nicer Nb4C mugs that I have seen, albeit a bit expensive at £12.

For none-Nb4C items, the autumn mugs looked good and the doormat was quite tasteful compared to some that I have seen in other shops.

Tesco Halloween 2023

The local Tesco store to me has put out its display of Halloween fare this week. It's not the biggest store and I did find some nice homewares last year in a bigger store. But this year is the same sort of goods as in recent years, e.g., decorations, partyware, skeleton pjs and fancy dress. Nothing to add to my collection sadly.

Asda Halloween 2023 main display

Asda put their main display of decorations and fancy dress out at the weekend. Amongst the decorations is a 'Little Shop of Horrors Audrey II' style singing and dancing toy plant. Again Asda have Disney products and thereare Nighmare Before Christmas clothing & mugs and also Disney villain mugs.
